Leeds photo week starts next week! - A whole week celebrating photography as an amazing pastime and stunning art form.
With a whole selection of events - on the web and in the real world - you’ll have a great chance to find out more about how you can improve your own photography - while exposing yourself to some of the best photos shot in the local area and by local photographers.

We start on Wednesday 1st September with a talk by social documentary photographer, Ian Beesley.
Ian is a renowned social documentary photographer with an amazing body of work which has been exhibited widely, both at home and internationally.
Usual details apply - it's on Wed 1st of September meeting from 6pm at Old Broadcasting House
, Woodhouse Lane, LS2 9EN. Talk starts around 6.30 and we leave 'OBH' for the Dry Dock around 9pm. For those driving, there is limited on street parking (free from 6pm) and various multi-storey/ pay options - see www.leedstravel.info for more. £2 entry covers you for a hot drink (subject to availability).

Back to top September 2nd - Exposure Exhibition
The official opening of our exhibition ‘The Best of Leeds Vol 1’ at 42 New Briggate will take part on Thurs 2nd (6pm-8pm)
This exhibition looks at how the internet affects how we experience photography by showing a selection of images automatically identified as interesting by photo sharing website, Flickr.com. The exhibition can also be viewed on Saturday (11am-7pm) and externally from dusk every day.

If you are interested in getting more from your camera - and the photos you take - we recommend you come to ‘Beyond Snapping’ on Saturday 4th at Old Broadcasting House.
This event is free and will include a photo help desk and hints into getting more from your camera.
Alongside this you could also choose to make a camera from a matchbox

Back to top September 5th - PhotoWalk
Why not come along to our second photowalk around Leeds. This month it will take place in Chapel Allerton.
Meeting at the The Three Hulats (13 Harrogate Road, LS7 3NB) from 11am. We will take a walk through the local suburbia, Gledhow Valley’s pocket of nature and the Arts Festival. Walkers are given guidance on the route but left to move at their own pace. We meet back up at Caffe Nero in Chapel Allerton.
