Monday 1 February Well, that's January over...
Not wanting to wish the year away, but I'm a little bored of snow scenes now - and certainly looking forward to warmer days to get out taking photos - but before we leave January behind can I say another thankyou for those who were able to safely get to 'OBH' for John Houlihan's talk. I certainly enjoyed myself and the banter that went with the session.
January also brought us a few other things I'd like to draw your attention to announced future events - both Danny North* and Tim Parkin have agreed to come and talk to us at future events
*Danny's talk may be busy, so I recommend you reserve a place via the website.
Back to top Wed 3rd Feb - Post Shoot Special
This month's meet has a special theme - we're looking at what you can do with your images after the shoot has finished.
John Dolan will be taking beginners to Photoshop through a one-hour crash course in the basics, Alastair Thompson
will be giving his insight into the use of Photoshop's layers and Mark Skeet will be going through his own post-shoot workflow (especially handy for those who attended the Model Intro Workshop in November).
Following their sessions we'll be having a Q&A session to raise questions about editing, processing and presentation. If you have any questions or discussion starters for this session, please email them to me!
As usual it's 6pm - 9pm (with talks starting around 6.30pm) at Old Broadcasting House, Leeds LS2 9EN [Directions] £2 entry (includes hot drinks, subject to availability) Moving on for drinks nearby from 9pm.
Back to top Sat 20th Feb - Street/Public Photography Event
There are still places available for this event - which promises to be an interesting conversation on the topic of taking (usually candid) photos in public.
Discussions in the Leeds group and beyond are rife - the subject is now in the media and even parliament.
The day is aimed to be inclusive and focussed on sharing experiences, ideas and issues with others - along with some practical photography. Everyone should benefit and gains insight from the day.
Without lunch it's only £5.50 (£11.50 including lunch). For more information visit the website or get in touch
Can I pay on Wednesday? With cash - yeah!
Back to top Well, that's about it...
Except to say - there's a lot of work to try and ensure Exposure Leeds can stay around for a while and that the group remains popular, well-supported and gains profile in the area. To this extent I'd like to welcome James Bywood onto the team; his role is editor of the new Exposure Leeds (printed) magazine. More information will be coming soon but don't be surprised if he contacts you about the magazine!
Don't forget to check out the great cheap accessories we're selling off (thanks, Mark!).
I look forward to seing you on the 3rd or 20th - have a photo-tastic February!
Jon
